Despite committing to consistent production of sentimentalism, I feel the weight of it lace over my vision--- fine silver webs yearning to obstruct my reality. In the evening they jostle against the lunar effulgence. Yes, they are impalpable like the creatures of the night. When I am at once born unto the world, I carry these fibers of influence with me. They help me discern boundaries, embellish or degrade appearances, distort truths from untruths, restrain me from kindling fleeting sensations.

Infusion Yesterday I dreamed of some Shutter Island-esque scene. I was preparing a big bag of IV fluid, then setting the bag upon a tall shelf. Then I took the infusion set, the butterfly-wing kind I had like when I was young, and inserted into my left wrist's blue veins. Up to this point, I did every action automatically.  Then I felt the kick, but then my vision suffered and I can't find the needle head. No matter how hard I tried to take it out, I can't. I then woke up clawing at my wrist, which cramped for two minutes longer after I am fully conscious. 

I don't think I've experienced true loneliness in my life. Loneliness, to me, is defined as separation from human interactions and a true devotion to being separated from social connections. I here use "devotion" because it is difficult to remove oneself from a heavy onset of social interactions in the modern age.  Sitting alone in an empty house that is neither my own nor staying for a long time, I am preoccupied with the idea that I am alone. But I am not — I am in Berkeley, situated in one of the nation's crime capitals. Three blocks down I will see a man who is combatting the extremities of living.  I wonder if the majority of my adult life will be accompanied with the concept of being alone. I wonder if there is a day when I accept my fate as an individual, and not an age, a role, an occupation or task, a means to another's ambition.   Recently I took a quarter with all writing classes, mainly escaping from quantitative computation fatigue a quarter prior. The alleviation is absolutely appealing to me, but I still find myself too tired to compose when I want to now. It is a long siege for us, it is for a lot of things.  It is not my intention to become so withdrawn, never give into a quiet surrender to the world. The Fishbowl Effect Shifting into a mature mindset is to hone in on forgiveness. Society tells me to forgive, and I will do away with all the wrongs it has since introduced to me. Every motive, every projected situation, every hostile encounter originates from society, not from the individual. We are but children of the culture, lacking in some forefront knowledge that restricts us from complete empathy. By some quick wistful thought we impose our values to our proximal neighbors, and by this transient nature births society.  How can the fish lament on the water that gives it life, however dirty and filthy the water is?  They say that when you forgive, a physical weight slips from your shoulders. So let this message find me, let this moment wrap around me: let the warm light in!
